Survival

Survival

Cadets are instructed in a variety of bush survival skills including water treatment, fire making and food sourcing. Cadets are taught how to meet basic needs through the use of available equipment and improvisation.

Survival may seem like an unnecessary skill in modern society, but the ability to meet basic needs over a period of time with limited equipment is useful in emergency situations where external help is unavailable, such as a natural disaster. In addition to this, survival skills encourage out-of-the-box thinking and improvisation, conducive to performance in any field of life.
